Kendriya Vidyalaya A.M.C. Lucknow is one of the pioneer vidyalayas of the country. Starting in 1944, the school was recognized as Junior High School in 1951. When the scheme of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Ministry of Education, now H.R.D. Ministry. The Objective was to meet educational needs of transferable defence personnels through uniform syllabi, common text books and medium of instruction for Senior Secondary School Examination C.B.S.E. New Delhi. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has elevated the Status of K.V.A.M.C. as a Model School in the year 1999-2000. It has again been bestowed with the honour of Smart School in 2000-2001.
